Hi, nice to meet you! My name is Ileana and I am a wife, mom, healthy foodie, and home chef. I am originally from Cartagena, Colombia and live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband and two kids. I left my job as a Certified Public Accountant a few years ago to be a full-time mom and developed a true passion for real food and healthy living (and blogging!) along the way.
My love and curiosity for cooking and a healthy lifestyle began 7 years ago when my daughter was born. Although I had almost no experience in the kitchen at the time, I knew that good nutrition was essential to the proper development and growth of my daughter, and so, little by little, I began to follow easy recipes and experiment with different ingredients to prepare our meals at home. As a mom of two little ones, I understand how busy life can get!
Since 2017, when I learned about the Whole30 program and Paleo lifestyle, my focus has been on eating real food on a daily basis and not counting calories or measuring portions. As I get older, I have found that I feel my best when I follow a Gluten-Free diet (mostly Paleo, with an occasional splurge in brown rice and beans). Most of my recipes are Whole30 & Paleo friendly, and all are Gluten-Free with a Latin flair.
My goal is to provide you with easy and delicious real food recipes and ideas as well as tips on how to save time in the kitchen. I would love to show you that living a healthy lifestyle does not need to be time consuming, bland or repetitive! I hope the "bites" of information you find here can in some way inspire you as much as I’ve been inspired, and I look forward to connecting with you!
